Scottsdale

I flew home on February 7. Two days after I left Ohio, about 8" of snow fell!

February 23, Jim flew to Houston and the next day we went to Scottsdale. The annual PLCA (pipeline contractor's association) meeting was there this year. We have not been in a few years, so it was good to go again. The president of Jim's company was the outgoing president. We went to two formal dinners and two kinda-sorta-not-formal dinners. We saw lots of friends and made new ones. I got back to Houston yesterday afternoon, but poor Jim had to fly on to Detroit and then drive another hour! I know his butt is dragging today!!! Today, I wash and repack and leave for Hawaii on Wednesday.

Meniscus

My workouts with Kurt, the personal trainer, continue. Three days a week for almost 3 weeks and I still have newly sore muscles! It's all good, tho! My knee has a tweak in it right now, so upper body for a few days.

Jim has been gimping around for a month or so. Actually, his knee has been bothering him for many months. He finally went to an orthopedic doctor last week and was diagnosed with a torn meniscus. Ouch! So, he had surgery today to remove the damage. They had to remove 1/2 of the meniscus. It does not regenerate, nor do they replace it. It is only replaced if you are about 16 years old. So, his right knee only has 1/2 of the meniscus! While he was waiting to go into surgery, I told him that I hoped they operated on the correct knee, which made me kinda snicker! So, I got out a pen and wrote "wrong knee" on his left knee. Oddly enough, the pictured book is what he is currently reading. I'm sure people were wondering what we were snickering about...well, NOT the guy next to us...he was snoring too loud to have heard it!

I'm flying home on Sunday. I think Hailey will be ready for a "house guest". Ha! She likes to THINK that we just gave her our house! We just continue to let her think that, tho! It's easier that way!
