San Antonio

Jim had a function to go to for business in San Antonio. We have been to this many times over the years, but have not been to it for about 12-13 years. It used to be in Harlingen, but they moved it to Boerne for a few years and to SA this year. The first night was the annual costume party. I had ordered costumes for us, but 2 nights before leaving, I tried mine on and it did not fit! So, Jim wore his werewolf costume and I wore a t-shirt that said "trick or treat"! There were some really clever costumes there. I don't know how some people are so creative! Jim played golf for 3 days after the Halloween party. I attended a ladies luncheon and met my sister, Carolyn, in Boerne for the afternoon. Jim flew back to Ohio yesterday and I have many things to get done in the next few weeks.

I have been home 6 weeks and have cleaned and organized the following:

I've rearranged a couple of pieces of furniture. Rearranged some house decorations. I'm sure there are other things that are escaping me right now. I still have a few more inside projects to do, but I've accomplished a BUNCH! I took a car load to Purple Heart this week and after cleaning my closet today, I have another load. I've thought about taking some of the clothes to a resale shop, but not sure I have the patience for that! I can just hear them..."no, not that,...oh, this is nice...um...I don't think so"! Naaah, not gonna do that.

In other news...tomorrow is my birthday. Unlike Hailey's friend, Carolyn, I remembered mine! (sorry Carolyn)! Jim sent me a FedEx package that I received today, BUT, my golden rule...do not open gifts until the day of the birthday! Although, Hailey MADE me open her gift last week. If you know Hailey...you know how persistent she is! She bought me a James Avery hummingbird charm and necklace. When I had my mammogram yesterday, the tech loved it! She told me about going to a fellow nurses house that had hummingbirds. She said the lady had about 30 flying around her head while she was filling the feeders! That would be SO cool!

Candice had surgery on her arm yesterday. She was thrown from a horse in May and had a compound fracture. The doctor put a plate in her arm, but it just never healed. After seeing several more orthopaedic doctors, she finally found one that treats trauma/disaster cases. He said she will be in the hospital until at least Friday of next week! She may have another surgery tomorrow or Friday. I'll go see her either tomorrow or Friday. Jordan is still off work, so he has been staying with her.

Jim and I have a function to go to in San Antonio next week. We used to go to this years ago, but it was in Brownsville. He will play golf for 3 days with the guys. My sister, Carolyn, is going to come visit one day. We also have a costume party to go to. Our costumes came in today. I'm going to be Ghouldilocks...not to be confused with GOLDilocks. Jim is going to be a werewolf. I'll post pics after we get back.

I'm not sure how much longer I'll be home before going back to Ohio. I still have some yard work to get done and having a radiant barrier installed in the attic. Other things seem to keep cropping up.
