May found me back in Ohio. Got back in the wife-groove, again. I had been gone for about 4 weeks and it is always an adjustment when one of us has been away for a while. I took a couple more jewelry making classes. I'm lovin' it! I also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. I had signed up hoping to help more often, but they are only building 3 houses in this area this year. So, I spent one Friday painting the inside of a house with several other volunteers. Another highlight of May is that Jim graduated from Dale Carnegie. He attended a 13 week session and I went to the graduation. He loved taking the course and is incorporating it into his daily life. In early June, on a Saturday night, Jim and I had to evacuate to the school next door to the basement for tornadoes. Once at 11PM and again at 2:30AM! One really bad tornado hit about 3 miles from us in Lake Township. It tore down the elementary school and also the police station. Six people were killed. Really tragic. The next thing was a very close and personal sad story. A very good friend of mine from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (we lived there for 9 years), well, her son died from a brain aneurysm. He was only 25. Hailey and Jason had know each other since they were 4. Jordan went to school with his older sister, Amy. I flew to Tulsa to attend the funeral. Hailey also flew in for 4 days. I stayed another week after she left helping Susan with some things for Jason and visited with old friends. When I left Tulsa, I flew to Lexington and Jim picked me up there to go to a job site of his in Kentucky. We spent the night in Salt Lick, KY and drove to Nashville the next day. We attended an art fest at the Toledo Botanical Gardens and it was fantastic. Like the one on the waterway in TW, but much bigger. Another major milestone for me was that I had someone else do my hair. Since I was in 9th grade, only FIVE people have cut and/or colored my hair. I went to a salon in Perrysburg and told them I wanted the best person there to do my hair. I scheduled an appointment for the next day and went in a little nervous. Carrie cut and colored my hair and I loved it! Really, really loved it.
