Hailey came to visit

My favorite flower, the dogwood, is in full bloom everywhere!

Hailey in the buggy with Tony, the horse.

I needed a hat and the first thing I found in Jim's truck was a hard hat!

Hailey caught a crappie!

Hailey came to see us on Thursday. She worked all day and then flew to St. Louis. I picked her up and brought her back to "trailer trash" life! Ha!! On Friday, she met my friends, Carla and Sandy. We all went to Quincy and went to lunch and then all had facials. They were fantastic! I love the feel of my face when it feels like a babys butt...a SMOOTH babys butt! On Friday night, we went to the restaurant next door. A lot of our pipeline friends hang out there in the bar area after work. There, Hailey met more friends and had an on going game of acronyms. You know, like OMG, WTF, BFD, and of course, FUPA. Carol and Steve that both work for Welded and Hailey went at it all night coming up with their own acronyms!

On Saturday Carla, Sandy, Hailey and I went to Bowling Green and had a Mexican lunch. Then we went to an Amish auction. Lizzie, Amos, and Leona were there. Lizzie was making donuts with the ladies. We found her and introduced Hailey to her and then found Leona and Amos. After we stayed at the auction for a little while, Lizzie was ready to go home. She and Leona left with us in the car. We did not know it, but Amos left just a few minutes before us in the horse and buggy. When we realized that he was going home, we had Carla speed up to catch up with him. When we stopped the car in front of Tony, the horse, Hailey and I got out and we rode the 2 miles or so with Amos in the buggy! I had ridden in it before, but I was so glad that Hailey got to do it, too! We went to their house and I showed Hailey around. It was a quick trip to Amish Country, but I think Hailey enjoyed it. We went back to the restaurant that night and Hailey, Carol and Steve continued their acronym game.

Sunday morning we got up and went to Lake Pittsfield fishing. I caught one catfish and 3-4 crappie, and Jim and Hailey caught about 10 crappie each. After we had fished for a couple of hours, we came back to the trailer so Jim could clean them. He then cooked them for supper! We had a relaxing evening and Hailey got her stuff together to go back to Texas.

This morning we left about 10 and went by Jim's office so Hailey could tell her Dad bye. Then, we went to Chesterfield Mall and shopped and had lunch at Cheesecake Factory. All we bought was a pair of sandals for Hailey. It had rained all day, so I was not sure what her flight schedule would be. She was scheduled to fly out at 5:30. I left her at the airport about 4:15 when it said that her flight was on schedule. Well, that turned out not to be the case. It was 8:15 before she finally left STL on her way to IAH. She just called and has landed in Houston. I'm sure she will have some interesting airport/airplane stories!
